About

CCRG is a volunteer, non-profit, registered incorporated society formed to provide a voice for Auckland City Centre residents.

The City Centre Residents Group began working with the former Auckland City Council in 2005 when the City Centre Targeted Rate was established. We continue that role today to ensure that Auckland Council has ready access to a resident perspective when making decisions around city centre living, issues, changes, and developments.

Our focus is always that People and Place take precedence over Motors and Movement:

  • PEOPLE FIRST – business exists to serve and employ people
  • transport exists to move people and their things,
  • infrastructure exists to house and support people to live healthy lives
  • arts/culture is about people’s stories
  • the environment must be protected to provide food and water for all living things including people
  • governments exist to represent the will of people so we must therefore develop our city with a future focus on people

We are a voice for the 38,000+ City Centre Residents who call this diverse, vibrant community home, advocating to improve our City Centre/Pokapū Tāone.

The City Centre Residents’ Group is an incorporated society under the Incorporated Societies Act, governed by a constitution.
